2020 Year in Review

What a year.

I don’t need to go into heavy detail about how this was a hard year. We already know.

Here’s the positives and highlights from the year.

  • This year, I launched my Social Good program which gave a few discounts to those who need it most, as well as donated 25 trees to One Tree Planted. Hoping to do 50 next year.

  • Shot a good handful of elopements in backyards, apartments, and parks.

  • Helped Glimmers launch their brand and did a lot of the media for them.

  • Wrote and sold out of my first poetry book.

  • Got into hiking (had to do something with my camera since there weren’t a lot of concerts going on!)

Keep that mask on, friends! We’re not out yet.

Hiking on the Palisades Trail

Hiking on the Palisades Trail

  • Had 5.2k unique visitors to the site (+152% over last year!)

  • Quit Giving Money to Amazon (or at least as much as possible - they own a lot of the web servers in the world)

  • Got to work with Adam Elmakias on his digital marketing strategy for his podcast, Don’t Shit on the Bus. (Check it out!)

  • Had the biggest growth in business since opening my doors in 2017 (albeit shifting my core services a lot)

  • Quit playing Dota 2 (at least until the next battle pass comes out…)

  • Went on my first podcast as a guest, Mugs with Mags

  • Gained about 150 followers on IG, 200 on Twitter, and somehow my cat’s Facebook Page gained 900. I promise I have a degree in this, guys.

  • Got really good at using ClickUp. It has saved me a ton of time and gave me a place to throw all my thoughts, plans, itineraries, and more.

  • Really made my office kickass.

  • Launched Create Atlanta, a small content creator meetup for Atlanta to help keep all the concert photographers I know busy

What I’m Changing for Next Year

I feel like as I’m approaching my thirties that I need to start doing more to keep my brain stimulated and keep engaged with the world, so I have a few personal goals and milestones I’d like to try and achieve.

  • Write more. I created a few articles this year and really enjoyed it. I’d like to keep that up. Maybe start cross posting to Medium when applicable.

  • Read more. Not necessarily books, but just read more from professionals and less from Twitter users.

  • Take advanced photography classes. I’m considering online college, but may go to a local tech/trade school instead of an accredited college.

  • Leave the country at least once. (I just requested a passport - never had one!)

  • Go to a national/state park at least once a month.

  • Keep my Buffer queue running the whole year. (This is how I keep my feed posting even when I’m too busy to hang out on social media)

  • Develop and grow Create Atlanta
